Week of Sept 30 - Oct 4

Hey G8s!

This week has been full on! We've extended a couple deadlines to alleviate some of the work load, however, we all need to make sure we're managing, and, using class time wisely.

Upcoming dates:

Urban Legends Draft #1 -- Tomorrow (Friday, Oct 4)
- All criteria has been talked about in class and information is in the Share Folder

JigSaw: Japan's Period of Isolation
- I've met with the Expert Groups and have gone over task expectations (if you were absent, come see me and/or speak with your group colleagues)
- All presentations will occur Oct 15, 16, and 17

A Final Message Before The Break

Hello 8's! We both just wanted to send out a final message. Since next week is spring break, we won't be receiving or replying to messages until Sunday, March 29. We have all been working hard over the past few months, so we encourage you to step away and relax. As we mentioned in our post from Monday, this past week was still a school week - albeit from home - but you are now officially on spring break. Powerschool has been updated with this week's assignments that were collected. If anything is reflecting as "missing" or "incomplete," that means that we have not received it. This could be a technical issue, but we encourage you to double check (You all know about Mr. Badr's frustration with some vanishing google doc shares) We know there is a lot of uncertainty about what is going to happen after the break. April 2 - Looking Ahead

Hello everyone! It's been wonderful to see that so many students are logging on to D2L! We've been noticing students looking at the Light and Optics slides and working on their writing prompts, so good work! Tomorrow, we are going to have our first Friday class meeting on Google Meet at 10am . An invite code will be sent to your webmail at 9:55am. It is expected that you attend - barring technical difficulties. This meeting will be a little bit longer than our usual meetings since we are still getting up and running. Two main topics we will cover in this meeting: Tutorial on how to submit assignments from Drive on D2L How to take the Practice Quiz (Tomorrow) and the Science Test (Monday) One question we had yesterday was about what Mrs. Thornborough is going to do with Band . We talked to her today and she said that she would set up a webpage with an optional weekly activity for Band students to do in order to further their learning and skills. This is NOT a cours...
